Day 1: Arrival at Leh

Arrival at Leh

On the arrival at Leh airport, our representative will be there to greet you and take you to the pre-booked hotel. Today is for acclimatization because of high altitude sickness; note that it is necessary to get acclimatized at a high altitude. Post lunch you will proceed for a short leisurely walk around the main bazaar exploring several cafes and handicraft shops. In the evening return back to the hotel.

Day 2: Local Sightseeing

Today after breakfast proceed for local sightseeing of Leh. Today you will visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak it was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to Ladakh. Later you will reach Magnetic hill is also known as “Gravity Hill”. Further the Sangam confluence of Zanskar and Indus River. You can enjoy river rafting here (at your own cost) By the evening back to the hotel, Overnight stay at Leh hotel.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley

Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (On Own). Later visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries.

KHARDUNGLA PASS: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms. Away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at a higher altitude than Deskit and other villages.

DESKIT VILLAGE: Deskit is the main village of headquarters of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop. A spectacular view of the valley can be seen from the monastery.

DESKIT GOMPA: Deskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa, which is a branch of Thikse Monastery. The monastic festival called Gustor takes place on the 20th and 21st days of the 12th month of the Tibetan calendar.

HUNDAR VILLAGE: Hundar is a beautiful village to stay in with a lot of trees and you will enjoy your stay at Hundar. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump Bactrian camels) from Hundar to Deskit, through dunes for two hours, is wonderful (on own). Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 4: Nubra to Turtuk and Panamaic

After having breakfast at the camp, start your drive to Turtuk, which is opened for tourists in 2010. Turtuk was captured by India only after the 1971 war, the village Turtuk is one of the only Balti villages in India and lies right next to the LOC. The village’s inhabitants still use traditional utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the village offers views of a beautiful valley, part of Shyok valley. On clear days you can have a glimpse of the K2 mountain peak located across the border in Pakistan. Though a Muslim village, there are few Gompas located on the plateau above Shyok River and there is an old royal house to see in the village. You will reach Turtuk by late afternoon, overnight stay at Turtuk) for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 5: Turtuk to Pangong

After having breakfast at the guest house, start your drive towards Pangong via Shayok. On the way crossing the village chulunkha, Hunder, and Diskit monastery, this monastery is the oldest monastery and largest Buddhist monastery in Nubra valley. It belongs to Gelukspa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD, after that turn to your left for Shayok its total off-road. By the evening you will reach Pangong Lake, this lake acts as an important breeding ground for a variety of birds such as bar-headed geese, Brahmini ducks. The lake also supports a number of species of wildlife including Kiang and Marmot. The lake is the largest salted lake in the world located at.

Day 6: Pangong to Leh

In the morning watch the mesmerizing view of sunrise over the lake and the barren mountains which appear golden due to sun rays. After having breakfast at the campsite, leave for leh via Changla pass. On the way back visit Hemis monastery which is one of the most famous and largest monasteries in Ladakh. This beautiful monastery belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17th century. Visit Thiksey monastery this monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. You can also visit 3 idiots school at Shey village is also known as Druk Padma Karpo School, the school shot popularity after it was featured in Bollywood 3 idiots. 3 idiots school shows the rich culture of Ladakh. By the evening you will reach Leh, Overnight stay at Leh hotel.

Day 7: Depart from Leh

Morning breakfast at hotel, transfer to Leh airport to board your flight towards your home, and enjoy yet again a beautiful flight over the great Himalayas.
